Our annual Healthcare Hero Award was presented to the Honorable Jerry L. Demmings, Orange County (FL) Mayor who was recognized for his call to action for Central Florida in leading a comprehensive and intensive evaluation of the system of care for mental and behavioral health over the past year, engaging a wide array of stakeholders in the community to identify gaps and opportunities, and generating a series of recommendations that were approved by the County Commissioners in late February 2022
The Healthcare Hero Award was presented to Mayor Demmings by Patrick Peters, Benefits and Wellness Administrator at Orange County Government and Cheri Carrick, MBA, Director of Business Development and Marketing, Florida Division, AdventHealth, sponsor of the Healthcare Hero Award.
